What are the remedies in case of flight delays?

It is important to know that Etihad is obliged to inform passengers of their rights in terms of delay. Compensation and reimbursement conditions must be posted in the check-in area and passengers must be informed.

Etihad is required to provide assistance to passengers (hotel, meals) when the plane is delayed from at least:

– 2 hours for flights up to 1500 km;

– 3 hours for flights within the European Union of more than 1500 km, and 1500 to 3500 km for other flights;

– 4 hours for flights over 3500 km.

In the event of late flight departing more than 5 hours, the passenger may request the refund of his ticket if he gives up his trip.

If the plane is delayed by at least 3 hours upon arrival, compensation is possible. You can use the form at the top. 

Overbooking / Cancellation

Remedies and compensation in case of Etihad flight cancellation

If you are the victim of a flight cancellation or an overbooking (denied boarding) with Etihad, you can claim compensation up to:

  • 250 euros for flights up to 1500 km;
  • 400 euros for flights between 1500 and 3500 km;
  • between 600 and 800 euros beyond 3500 km.

However, compensation is not possible if the cancellation of flight is due to exceptional circumstances (weather conditions, political problem in the country of arrival) or if Etihad warned you of the cancellation at least two weeks before departure, or if it managed to get you to the airport on time.

Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and operates international flights from its Abu Dhabi International Airport. It serves more than 100 destinations worldwide and its passenger flow is increasing every year.

 

In the case of late departure, cancellation of flights or denied boarding for passengers departing from an EU country, the airline is subject to the same conditions as above and is notified on its website. in the section “Information on passenger rights in the event of flight disruptions at EU airports”.

 

In case of a canceled flight, you can choose between the refund of the ticket or a re-routing, and in case of cancellation or delay of more than 4 hours, the company offers you meals, refreshments, two phone calls, accommodation and transfers.
