Cancellation of flights
In the event of flight cancellation at Ryanair, passengers must be compensated, under the same conditions as when denied boarding, except in the following cases: if the cancellation is due to exceptional circumstances (exceptional climatic phenomenon, problems in the country of destination …), if the airline can prove that it has informed passengers at least 15 days prior to departure or if it has managed to route passengers to destinations other than the one originally planned.
Flight delay
Delays are compensated according to their importance: from 2 hours for a 1500 km flight, 3 hours for a flight over 1500 km in the European Union or 1500 to 3000 km for flights outside the EU and 4 hours for flights. flights over 3500 km. The indemnities are the same as in the case of denied boarding, just as in case of delay of more than 3 hours on arrival (except in extraordinary circumstances).
Delays of more than 5 hours can lead to the refund of the ticket if you give up making your trip.
Denied boarding / overbooking
When it comes against your will, denied boarding is a real problem. To be compensated, you must, of course, have a valid reservation and have complied with the deadlines and conditions of registration (for example: check in at least 45 minutes before boarding time).
If these conditions are met and the airline has overbooked (ie they have sold more tickets than they have seats on the plane – legal practice -) you can ask to be compensated.
The airline Ryanair will first have to ask among the passengers, volunteers who would agree to cancel their trip against compensation. If no passenger is a volunteer, she will have to compensate and offer assistance to the people she will not board.
This compensation depends on the distance of the flight: 250 € up to 1500 km, 400 € for flights over 1500 km in the European Union or between 1500 and 3000 km outside the EU and 600 € beyond 3500 km.
Ryanair presentation
Ryanair is an Irish company offering cheap tickets. Founded in 1985, it serves more than 200 destinations in Europe and around the world. It offers medium-haul flights aboard Boeing 737, for journeys not exceeding 3 hours (in order to continue offering low-cost tickets without losing money).
An innovative company, it constantly offers new tips to reduce costs on board, for itself, as for passengers. For example, it offers the choice of seats, the possibility of a priority boarding and checked baggage. This device allows passengers traveling without baggage to pay less.
In competition with several other low-cost airlines, Ryanair can nevertheless boast of being today one of the most punctual companies.
