Some 4,000 Belgian travelers claim compensation from Ryanair following the last strikes. These are victims who have used a specialized claims organization because of a flight that was canceled or significantly delayed. These organizations help passengers get compensation, with a percentage on the refund. The claim is usually between 250 and 600 euros.
With Claim It, 1,800 passengers filed a claim against Ryanair, which represents a claim value of 500,000 euros. EUclaim has 1,653 Belgian passengers with a file against the Irish low-cost airline, for a claim value of 449,250 euros. At Happy Flights, 440 people opened a case this year, the majority of which resulted from the strikes. Claims for compensation amount to 140,000 euros.
This brings the total to 3,893 victims of Ryanair, representing an application amount of nearly 1.1 million euros, regardless of direct requests and procedures through other organizations.
The question of whether the deceived customers will actually receive the money is a big question mark because Ryanair does not communicate at all on the subject.
